Our Love Story
Some love stories begin with a grand gesture.
Theirs began with a simple text.
It was Valentine’s Day 2024 when a mutual friend, Nikki Mannousis, sent an introduction text that would change everything for Katie and David.
At the time, David, originally from sunny Miami, was living in Maryland. And Katie—born and raised in Columbus, Ohio—had no idea that one text message would spark something extraordinary.
But this one ignited a series of events that would evolve into a first date at Opal Restaurant in Friendship Heights, where great conversation flowed effortlessly over dinner. They talked about travel, their shared love of Israel, and life’s adventures.
When David walked Katie to her car that evening, their first kiss sealed what both quietly sensed— that something special was beginning. That night, David texted to say he’d had a great time and wanted to see her again.
On their second date, a bowling alley brought out the laughter (and a little competition). David won the game. Or did he? That’s right, Katie let him win. And this wouldn’t be the last time her playful charm left him smiling.
As months passed, their bond deepened. There were weekend getaways to Annapolis and Guatemala, evenings spent cooking together, and the unforgettable moments when they introduced their families and when Katie met David’s boys. Buying a home together became not just a milestone, but a symbol of the life they were building—warm, full of laughter, and shared adventure.
On March 28, 2025, under the warm Bahamian sun at Atlantis Resort, David proposed.
This venue was a perfect reflection of their story: joyful, meaningful, and surrounded by beauty.
Now, as they prepare to say “I do” in another breathtaking destination, they look forward to celebrating this next chapter with the people who mean the most to them.
